It is that special time in the life of a mommy. My baby girl was able to sit up, unassisted, tonight for more than 30 seconds. I am so woohoo-rock on-excited, I struggle to find words. (But never fear blog readers, I have some somewhere!) It's great to birth the baby. It's wonderful when she figures out how to really latch on. It's thrilling to feed that first rice cereal. But it's supercalafragalistic-expealidotious-fabulosnabulous when she sits up for the first time. I don't even get this excited when the walking starts. But sittin up, I'm there. Go Emily, momma loves you!You might have notice the understated little band-aids on Emily's thighs. Yes folks, today was the day of 6 month immunizations. She was the recipient of 3 shots and one oral vaccine. So that Allison didn't get left out, she recieved her Flu shot today also. She was all excited and proud that it was her turn until she figured out what was going on. She wasn't greatly impressed when the doctor checked out her ears to make sure they were getting better. She has been on antibiotics since Friday. She is looking and acting a lot more like a princess. Okay, more like a drama-queen-in-training with cabin fever. So it was nice to hear that one ear is looking lots better and the other is getting there.
Everything is going great, except one small thing. Grandma is sick now! It is horrible. Her plan had been to pack up the girls and take them to see Grandpa for a few days. But she called me at work, after I thought she would be gone, to say she was just really sick and asked if I could come home as soon as possible. And I did. Poor Grandma was looking rather peaked and I think she might have been wishing to die. Lucky for us all, she is still hanging in there. I have threatened to take her to the hospital if this is still happening tomorrow! As I've said previously, I ain't no quitter! And this would be the person who taught me how to keep up the fight. Thanks Grandma.
By the way, there is no darn way I would post a picture of poor Grandma Carolyn right now. She still thinks I'm the "good child", I'd like to keep it that way. ;)

Not the shots! So far, they are the worst part of parenting as far as I'm concerned. You are so brave! Poor babies.
Poor Grandma! I hope she's feeling better. I can't believe everyone has been so sick! Hang in there, girly. I miss you! xox
If I lived closer, I'd come over to help Grandma (we Granny's have to stick together!).
I hope that EVERYONE is better soon.
The pictures are adorable!
Oh man, I hate shots!!! :( :( :( I get sick to my stomach on the day of!
HOORAY for the tiny princess learning to sit up. That is a HUGE accomplishment!! She is so, so pretty!
I'm glad that Allison didn't feel left out. And hooray for Emily on sitting up.
Poor Grandma on being sick. That stinks and don't you feel so helpless and powerless when your Mother is sick? I always do. It is like Christmas Day - the only day of the year - that Wal-Mart is closed. You just feel like the world is off it's axis.
Okay, maybe I'm a drama queen too. :)
