thank you Ma Bell

WoooooooooHooooooo!!!!!!!!!

Today is a banner day. Shane was able to call for the first time in a month! It was wonderful to hear his voice again. I have messages on the answering machine, but this was the real live person. It was great.

The other note for the week: solid food poo smells bad! There are quite a few things I have forgotten in the 2.5 years of Allison's life. I am coming to some familiar conclusions as Emily grows. She is very happy to have eat her rice cereal with breast milk and fruit or veggie. She is also a rather "helpful" girl. My mom says she is "guiding" the spoon to her mouth. I equate it to 2 cruise missles on an intercept course. She ends up with more food on her hands than in her mouth. But she is happy, so who cares!

May I share my "I'm officially old" moment for the week? One of the days this week I worked with 3 15 year old patients. None of them knew 1)who John Denver was 2)that he died 10 years ago 3)who Barry Manilow is It was a sad, sad moment. I did of course switch CD's from John to Barry and sang and danced my little heart out. Much to the embarassment/amazement of the aforementioned 15 year olds. How can you not be in an instant good mood when Barry starts to belt out "her name was Lola, she was a showgirl"?

I think I'll start dancing now. You should to! ;)

John Denver - I think one of the characters in Armageddon made a reference about him...so I have heard of him before.

And the funeral..when I am able to change out of hospital garb I have a gold MU sweatshirt, MU pants and black and gold socks!! Goodbye Bob!

Oh man, I've been there before. A twenty-something co-worker of mine had no idea who Laverne & Shirley were?

You just quoted my fave song IN THE WORLD!!! Did you realize that? I sang that song every day at 400 with a tiny screaming Ivy in her baby bjorn. Every verse and chorus!

I'm happy about the call.

And sweetie, no matter how old you are, you are sooooo much younger than me!

I LOVE BARRY MANILOW. I usually can't admit that without much ridicule from people. My mom and I went to see Barry in concert when I was a freshman in college....I was, without a doubt, the youngest person in the audience. .....with yellow feathers in her hair and a dress cut down to there.......

I guess I'm too old or too sheltered or something but - believe it or not - I don't remember Barry Manilow at all. I remember John Denver a little bit but am totally unfamiliar with any of his music. (Yes, I am 31 and yes, I know my childhood WAS a bit sheltered. This might account for it. :))

hey...I wanted to tell you that you're totally my inspiration for running yesterday. I thought it was so cool when you did your 5K, and I'm trying to be cool too! (although, can I just say that my quads are KILLING me. Clearly, I need to learn to knit and read while moving.....)

if we all ever get together in real life, we're totally blasting Barry music.

I am *SO, SO, SO* glad that you heard from him! What a happy, happy day!

Too bad about those girls. Their loss, right? :)
