When grandma left us Thursday morning, she was replaced by Auntie Mel. Auntie Mel joined me for Financial Peace on Thursday night. Her fine dog Riley got to hang out with us also for the extended weekend. Riley made life much more interesting here. He is about a year and a half old and is HIGH energy. He also doesn't know how to stay in a yard. So he and Bandit went for a tour of the neighborhood. Fun for them, stressful for Auntie Mel as she was watching the girls and dogs while I was finishing up with my neighbor Amy. Good news though, they were quickly returned when I went after them. The girls had no idea anything was amiss. Amy and I finished up quickly.
What might Amy and I have been doing on a Saturday morning? Weeellllll Amy is my hair stylist. Too cool that my newest neighbor happened to put in a salon in her basement AND she is really good! I am not as adventurous as Ms. Karianne, I let the pros do my color. I think I might have been scared by the orange hair I saw happen in high school or something..... But anywho, here is the new 'do.

It ended up a little shorter than I was going for.... But it's hair, it will grow...right? Now I'm trying to figure out what exactly I will do with the shortest hair I have had since I was 2 years old. But I think I can, I think I can. My family tells me it is good. So let me know what ya'll think! I wanna hear comments, good, bad and indifferent. And yes, that is natural curl. It has gone crazy since Emily came along. Who knew having a kid could make your hair do new things?
And last but not least, my mom and dad came back up Saturday. They came to see Melanie and so dad and I could go to the football game. Yeeeehaaaa! The Tigers played quite well and the Cornhuskers did not. My dad enjoyed the game greatly. I enjoyed the fact that I facilitated his joy. He and mom have done so much for me in my lifetime. (not just the giving life part) It is great that I can give something (other than grandchildren) to him. I did offer to take my mom, she kindly declined my offer. Something about preferring to stay home with the girls. Not a huge surprise there.
BTW the Tigers are now ranked just outside the top 10 in the BCS standings. Go Tigers!

I'm freaking jealous of that natural curl. Do you know what I used to pay for curls like that? I'm loving the shortness of it all! Doesn't it feel great to not have it all on your neck?
Beautiful! I'm glad all of you are doing better and that you had such great help.
Ooooo la la! I REALLY like it, Nat! The red really brings out your blue eyes! :) You are DEFINITELY a beauty, babe!
Glad to hear that the Tigers won! Whoo hooo! Now I have something to say to my supervisor this morning!
I've been missing you and your posts. I'm sorry about the "fever episode", but isn't it nice to have family to help when things are off kilter.
I really like the hair cut. Very nice!
I'm sure your Dad enjoyed the outing with you, and I'm even more positive that you Mom enjoyed the girls.
Take care.
What do I have to say about the haircut? Ballsy and beautiful! I'm with Karianne. Any time my hair is curly I have spend time with hot instruments and use a bottle of hairspray...and then pray it doesn't rain.
GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ooh! Such pretty curls! I will live vicariously through your short hair cut, since I do not have the cahones to do it myself! It looks fabulous and so fun!! I'm dying to come play hair stylist with some pomade and a flat iron! =0) Fun, fun!
Do you think your neighbor would like to cut my hair? Hey, it would give me yet another excuse to make it down there every few months...
Miss you bunches! Hugs and kisses... -Jen
Hey Natalie! Jen gave me your blog web address (hope you don't mind). I really like your new haircut by the way. I had no idea you were quite the athlete.
Hope your day is going okay with the girls and pup. Take care and it was great meeting you a couple months ago!
Oh my gosh. I LOVE YOUR HAIR! it is just perfect on you.
you look great....it just "goes" with your runner look. And I'm totally jealous!
Hope your babies are better.
