My ABCs of Thankfulness 2009

I haven't been on here much lately. When I have, it's been melancholy or generally whiny. So I'm going to put out a positive vibe and hope it is uplifting for someone more than me!

My friend Kelly first brought this posting into my life a few years back. So in her honor, here is my ABCs of Thankfulness 2009.

A is for Allison, firstborn, bright shining star in the drama queen-in-training galaxy. My Princess, my heart.

B is for Body Combat with Curtis, Suzanne, Jentry, Kristin, Aurora, Stan, Susan, and everyone else! Never knew punching and kicking could be so addictive.

C is for Car. New to me and has been oh so much fun! Maddie the Acura MDX

D is for Dog-- better known as Bandit the Wonderdog! Even if he repeatedly tears up Allison's wall..... I love my furry dog

E is for Emily. My sweet petunia pea blossom, constant smile from the powder puff linebacker

F is for Family and Friends old and new! Those people who don't care that I'm light years away from perfect. They just pull me through. (hey...that rhymed a little)

G is for Generic Jenga. A new game played with some of the best friends I have made in the adult journey called life! Jen, Roopal, Jenn (and the halves that make them whole Joe, Neelay, and Keith), and Mudslides.... :)

H is for Heidi and Josh. Two new friends who help me out whenever I ask, with whatever I ask. They are also good for a random spontaneous dinner parties... how can that be a bad thing? :)

I is for Ice cream. The *best* incentive I have found to get my kids to eat all their dinner.

J is for Jennifer or "Hot Jen", how ever you might know her! The person I can count on for an ear, a shoulder, a personal shopper, or a trip of spontaneity! Whatever I need, she can help me.

K is for Kelly and Joel. 2009 was a special year for them. I was blessed to join them a couple times. Thanks for a beautiful wedding to attend, and a great weekend to forget stress for a moment or two.

L is for Laughter! I will take all the laughter I can get, as long as no one is seriously hurt in the making!

M is for Melissa and Memorial Day 2009. She came to visit and joined a wonderful weekend. My soul twin from the west coast!

N is for Nickelback. Some great music that can describe a mood or soothe a savage...kinda.... ;)

O is for Omeprazole.....also known as Prilosec OTC.

P is for P!nk (the singer not the color). "Have you ever thrown a fist full of glitter in the air? Have you ever looked fear in the face and said 'I just don’t care'?"

Q is for Questions answered and life chapters closed.

R is for Rick. A friend who showed up out of *nowhere*, and has stuck around with humor, advice, perspective, and irreverence whenever needed.

S is for Suzanne!!! What a supportive friend with glue, wine, or Body Combat whenever I need it! My friend who will keep me honest, "protected", and strong!

T is for Tiger Football! Mizzou-Rah! Very satisfying victory over the dreaded Jayhawks.... MIZ--ZOU!

U is for University of Missouri Healthcare--- and my job! And alcohol, smoking, and the poor choices people make on a daily basis.

V is for Vancomycin, Riphampin, and Ceftazidime the fun antibiotic cocktail my dad is using to kick some MSSA

W is for Wall-E the movie that makes the Princesses happy, and me think there might be hope for my love life. If robots can figure it out without extensive re-programming, maybe I can too.... ;D

X is for X-rays used during my dad's cardiac cath. Without that procedure, I am not sure he would still be here to enjoy 2010.

Y is for Yesterday's mistakes. Learn from them, but leave them as I move on to today and tomorrow. My new goal for 2010.

Z is for Zyrtec. My companion, my friend.

I am sure I forgot someone and something. I am looking forward to the finish of 2009 and start of 2010.
